Terms of Service
iCore runs on your own computer and holds your own data. These terms are short because the product does little on your behalf: there is no account, no server holding your files, and nothing for us to do with your information.
1. What iCore is
iCore is software you download and run on hardware you own. It indexes data you connect to it, answers questions from that data, and — only if you switch the network on — can exchange de-identified, generalised knowledge with other iCores. Using it does not create an account with us and does not transfer your data to us.
2. What you own
You own your data, the local index built from it, and any model weights personalised to you. We claim no licence over any of it. If you delete iCore, you keep everything it produced; nothing is retained elsewhere because nothing was sent elsewhere.
3. Connected accounts
When you connect a third-party account (Google, Slack, Telegram and similar), you authorise iCore — running on your machine — to read that data under the read-only permissions you approve. Those credentials and that data stay on your device. Your use of each service remains governed by that service's own terms, and you are responsible for having the right to connect the accounts you connect. You can disconnect any source at any time.
4. The network is opt-in
The HiNet network is off by default. If you turn it on, your iCore may answer questions from other nodes using distilled, de-identified knowledge — never your raw data, which the answering path cannot reach. You may leave at any time; leaving does not require anyone else to retrain anything.
5. Acceptable use
Do not use iCore to break the law, to access accounts or data you have no right to, to impersonate anyone, or to attack the network or other participants. On the network specifically: do not knowingly publish false attestations of competence, and do not attempt to extract another participant's private data.
6. No warranty
iCore is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It is early software that runs a language model locally: it will sometimes be wrong. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions without independent verification. You are responsible for what you do with its output.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profit or revenue, arising from your use of iCore. Because the software runs on your machine and we hold none of your data, we cannot recover data you lose — keep your own backups, and in particular save your recovery phrase, which is the only way to restore your owner identity.
8. Keys and recovery
Your owner key and recovery phrase are generated on your device and held only there. We never receive them and cannot reset, recover or reissue them. Losing your recovery phrase without a backup means losing that identity permanently.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the software develops. Material changes will be noted here with a new "last updated" date. Continuing to use iCore after a change means you accept the updated terms.
